This band defines the term “jamtronica,” taking the tastiest features of a live impromptu jam and combining it with the dance-ability and rhythm of electronic music, with a dash of psychedelic sound, progressive rock and even folk for good measure. The five-piece band is comprised of guitarist and lyricist Anthony Thogmartin, drummer Mike Healy, bassist Rob McConnell, and brothers Billy and Sam Brouse on keyboards, synth and programming. Papadosio calls Athens, OH home but they are currently based out of Asheville, NC.
Their most recent release and arguably their most impressive, T.E.T.I.O.S (To End the Illusion of Separation), was recorded entirely from a home studio, as lead singer Anthony felt this was the best way to capture the true essence of the band:
“In your own studio there is no engineer changing how you want to sound, no producer telling you how the songs should be arranged, you get to call the shots, and the end result is a completely pure album as no one influenced the bands decisions. This is PURE Papadosio.”
No strangers to touring, they have brought their signature sound to festivals such as Wakarusa, Gem & Jam, Sonic Bloom, Electric Forrest and Envision in Costa Rica. They’ve used this platform to spread their message about conservation, tolerance and humanity. The Four Shadows tour takes them across the country throughout April with support from Tauk, The Malah, YAMN and The Human Experience. Catch them here in Dallas at Trees on April 16th for a late night set after Umphree’s Mcgee!
