Shpongle (pronounced /ˈʃpɒŋɡəl/) is a psychedelic downtempo or Psybient music project. The members are Simon Posford (aka Hallucinogen) and Raja Ram (one third of The Infinity Project). Simon takes care of the production, instrumentation and programming, while Raja Ram is the flautist and Cunning Linguist. They DJ separately and together, Simon having just completed 52 shows in the USA touring with a visual extravaganza known as ‘The Shpongletron’.
The Shpongletron Experience is a unique one that needs to be experienced. Fans attending one of the show are treated to a multicolored sensory experience, with elaborate sets and costumes combine with all of the lights piercing the atmosphere to come together forming an image both dark and wonderful.
Simon Posford returns with The new Shpongletron 3.1—designed by Zebbler- which made its debut at Higher Ground in Burlington, VT when Posford kicked off the first Shpongle (DJ Set) tour of 2015 on February 20. The tour will then continue with numerous stops, including here in Dallas, and in other locations across the United States over the course of six weeks, finally wrapping up at the Electric Factory in Philadelphia on April 4. Posford will also be joined by Phutureprimitive.
