- GRiZ just dropped the first part of his new EP entitled Chasing The Golden Hour. The EP is a nod to the classic hip hop stylings of the producers that have inspired the recent resurgence of beat culture. GRiZ has grown into immense popularity in the festival and club scenes by seamlessly straddling the lines between EDM, Funk & Hip Hop. This latest release is a true return to the hip hop roots behind his distinctive sound. Close your eyes, and you may forget that you’re not listening to a long-lost J.Dilla beat. It’s full of the sample-driven beats layered with smooth saxophone that arguably define that “Colorado Sound” that was originally popularized by big names such as Pretty Lights & Big Gigantic. And with that said, GRiZ is aggressively & ambitiously following in the footsteps of his Rocky Mountain brethren by creating timeless & progressive compositions that blur genre boundaries and keep the dance floor moving.
