First Impression: Elaquent & Flamingosis

//  09/12/2015

This week we have decided to try something new for an article: Expose someone to an artist/s for the very first time and have them document what they think/feel about the tracks.

First up we have Elaquent – Aurora

Three words come to mind…

“Basking in Aurora’s tranquil beats transformed my built up stress into bliss.”

Bask(verb)-to lie exposed to warmth and light for relaxation and pleasure.

Tranquil(adj)- free from disturbance; calm.

Bliss(noun)- perfect happiness; great joy.

Next we have Flamingosis – Football Head

I just heard “Football Head,” by Flamingosis, for the first time. My first thought was that it’s an exceptionally chill instrumental song filled with electronic emphasis and lined with jazz undertones. I then felt connected somehow and flooded with nostalgia. This came as no surprise, as I learned moments later, the song utilized a flipped sample from the classic cartoon, “Hey Arnold!.”
